This 2009 Milton W. Garland Commemorative Refrigeration Award for Project Excellence discusses an ammonia leakage problem at a Philippine brewery. It took almost 10 years for the brewery to fix an ammonia leakage problem. It had been spending $72,000 a year recharging the leaking the leaking vessels when it finally decided to fix or retrofit them.
