Proponents of underfloor air distribution (UFAD) systems claim they improve flexibility for HVAC systems, ventilation efficiency, and air quality while reducing life-cycle building costs, floor-to-floor height, as well as maintenance and operations costs. This article shows how a UFAD system is being used at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., through the viewpoint of commissioners.
