Using the postulated mechanism of heat and mass diffusion processes related to boiling of binary liquid mixtures on heated plain and integral-fin tubes, semi-empirical correlations for the calculation of heat-transfer coefficients of binary mixtures have been obtained. The predicted values from the present correlations are in excellent agreement with the experimental data of the present investigation and those of earlier researchers, which are for different liquid mixtures boiling on surfaces of different characteristics at atmospheric pressure. The proposed correlation for mixture boiling on plain tubes yields better predictions than those of Palen and Small (1964) and Stephan and Preusser (1978, 1979). However, the correlation of Palen and Small predicts reasonably well.
