A large thermal storage system, with membrane separation, stores chilled water to limit daytime chiller use, and it stores heated water produced by heat recovery chillers to reduce winter energy consumption.

Design information is presented describes how the storage volume was optimized and how heat recovery was integrated. Construction costs and electrical savings are also documented. Operational experience is reviewed to emphasize pertinent design considerations that affect storage capacity.
