This paper describes the commissioning process performed for an electronic satellite communication equipment test room. The room was built to simulate a climate of 50°C (122°F) for a 48-hour test, with the input voltage to the communication equipment varying ±10%. These are realworld design desert conditions for clients, and a documented test report is to be shipped with each piece of equipment as part of a quality assurance program. The objective of the commissioning process was to verify the design intent and train the operating personnel in the operation and maintenance of this complicated system. Since the target of the testing was to provide the documented 48-hour test report, it was important that the operators understood every nuance of the HVAC system. The commissioning process that was performed follows the procedure that would be performed with a typical HVAC system, with the exception being the importance placed on the 48-hour documented test form.
