A large manufacturing concern in the Buffalo, NY area contacted the author’s company concerning an air pollution control device.for their "grit furnace" exhaust fumes. These fumes are produced by a furnace used to cure a ceramic type material. The hot exhaust gases from -this furnace contain hydrogen fluoride gas as well as extremely fine particles. Both the hydrogen fluoride gas and the dust needed to be controlled to meet state air pollution standards.
