People involved in implementing direct digital controls (DDC) havenoted that implementation specifications are generally poorly written. Many specifying engineers have relied on control vendor representativesto write the controls specifications. As a result, many specifications arevariations of the vendors’ specification, slightly altered to meet project requirements. While many specifying engineers draft their own master controlspecifications, their master specifications do not necessarily encompass allpossible control technologies, nor are they suited for all implementations.Typically, the original specification was robust in the product section, butlacking in the general and installation section.
