Experiment shows that chilled water cooling coils operating at low water-side Reynolds numbers do not perform as well as predicted by manufacturer’s software. At a Reynolds number of 3100 there is an 8% over-prediction and this increases with decreasing Reynolds number. An alternative correlation is suggested to predict the heat transfer coefficient.
