The recent widespread use of Direct Digital Control (DDC) has emphasized the nature of the analog-out and digital-out signals of the DOC controller . The importance of the control loop and the concept of proportional control are being undermined. This paper demonstrates that the fundamental principles of control are more important than ever with the upsurge in the use of DDC. It presents an easy unique way to remember the basic principles and to gain maximum benefit in DDC applications.
