Describes the development and application of a novel imaging technique for determining air temperatures and flow fields from HVAC diffusers. The technique uses a temperature-sensitive liquid-crystal coated sheet to produce a two-dimensional colour image of the air temperature field. Evaluates the use of large-scale liquid crystal sheets for visualising the temperature field from HVAC diffusers. Notes the advantages and drawbacks of the system.
