States the revolution in control capability has made the task of generating a sequence-of-operation text quite difficult. A way of updating and revolutionising the engineer’s ability to communicate complicated control options is to utilise a matrix or spreadsheet presentation format rather than the essay format. Addresses the structure of such a matrix specification tool, including documentation procedures, standardised formats, dynamic information display, matrix inversion and application. The result is a PC-based computer program framework that utilises electronic spreadsheet technology. States that the utility of this tool is expected to be greatly expanded as the data base for the various local loop controls is expanded by future researchers and users.
