The effects of utilizing process heat recovery heat pumps are discussed in this paper. The authors address the decision process required in applying heat pumps to institutional buildings, food processing plants, textile plants, chemical plants, and pulp and paper plants.

We will explain how process recovery heat pump systems can be integrated into the overall thermal plant of a facility to obtain maximum thermal and economic efficiency, low-cost energy rates, and improved process production and quality. Potential problems will also be addressed with proven techniques developed for avoiding them.
