Buildings exceeding the plant static pressure commonly experience negative pressure on large thermal loops. This was the case for four of the tallest buildings at Texas A&M University. University personnel studied three solutions and chose to install a pressure sustaining valve on return pipe at the buildings where the elevation is higher than that of the system static pressure.
