1.1 This specification covers low energy air guns (LEAG), commonly referred to as airsoft guns, air soft guns, or soft air guns, or any combination thereof, which propel a low energy air gun projectile, as defined in 3.3.
1.2 Limitations – This specification does not cover the following categories of gun products: Products covered by Specifications F 589 (non-powder guns), F 2272 (paintball markers), F 2573 (toy products), and F 2574 (non-recreational guns such as those used by law enforcement, scientific, or military agencies).
