Explores the application of decentralised controller design methods to HVAC systems. Illustrates the differences between centralised and decentralised control systems by examples. Describes the design of a centralised controller for a multizone space heating system, and examines the output responses of the resulting closed-loop system. States the results show that the zone temperature response with decentralised control is very close to the response of the system with centralised control.
