Presents an optimal predictive control methodology that integrates a weather predictor, a setpoint optimiser, a feedforward control scheme and an adaptive generalised predictive control algorithm. States the new weather predictor, simplified through normalisation, makes it feasible to quantify the qualitative weather forecast for solar radiation. It is able to properly utilise the daily weather forecast, the historical weather record and the most recent measured data. The weather prediction algorithm has been preliminarily verified with Montreal’s weather record and forecast. Presents the results.
