Notes that computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been used for different flow and heat transfer problems in the HVAC industry over the last two decades with considerable success, although there are still some uncertainties. Shows that some uncertainties are the result of the many approximations used in turbulence models, numerical algorithms and discrete methods. Stresses that CFD users should have a good knowledge of turbulent flows and numerical techniques to perform correct simulations.
