In keeping with the celebration of ASHRAE’s 50th anniversary, the Journal is including an adapted article from Proclaiming the Truth. The consolidation of ASHAE and ASRE had been considered as early as the 1920s. Then on Dec. 1, 1958 the two societies, in separate meetings, voted for the merger.
