The scope of this standard is limited to the mechanical aspects of the design and evaluation of fuel assemblies for light water-cooled commercial power reactors. It does not address the various aspects of neutronic or thermal hydraulic performance unless these factors impose loads or constraints on the mechanical design of the fuel assemblies.
