This addendum represents an evolution of the descriptionand definition of the average outdoor temperature to be usedin the adaptive comfort model. The original term ? monthlyaverage ? did not fully capture the methodology used in definingthe adaptive approach nor was it clear in describing howto apply it. The change to prevailing mean as well as the additionof the daily outdoor temperature definition provides muchclearer direction on the application of the adaptive comfortmodel. This addendum allows a range of options for calculatingthe prevailing mean outdoor air temperature to accommodatedifferent sources of outdoor weather data and differentcomfort applications.
