A test set-up is described and data have been obtained on the response of a capillary tube and a plug orifice to a step change in refrigerant flow conditions. The transient data exhibited response times on the order of 3 to 5 minutes for the capillary tube and 30 to 40 seconds for the plug orifice. The effects of these differing response times on the transient response of a complete system may or may not be insignificant. They are not considered at this time.
