This standard provides a method for third-partyagencies to evaluate inspection data based on averagepercent core failures for penetration data and a confidenceinterval of the median for retention data. It is applicable topreservative pressure treated sawn lumber, sawn timbers,and engineered wood products. It provides requirements forincreased inspection, warning and disqualification whenconformance fails to meet specified levels. This evaluationmethod does not modify or change any current penetrationor retention requirement in the AWPA standards.
