When replacing worn out HVAC systems for schools, a thorough life cycle cost analysis is essential to ensure long-term savings. A Las Vegas school district replaced rooftop units for 11 elementary schools after studying four possible systems. Each school has saved more than $20,000 annually by using air-cooled R-22 reciprocating chillers, multizone air-handling units and other upgrades.
