This paper describes experience gained attempting toevaluate visual comfort in a brightly lit workspace.Simulation demonstrated that common discomfort glaremetrics such as Daylight Glare Probability (DGP) andDaylight Glare Index (DGI) were ineffective forevaluating glare in a brightly illuminated space, and asubsequent mockup confirmed this conclusion. Weattempt to explain why the metrics produced unsuitablesimulation results.
