The education of an engineer tends to focus on the technical and analytical side and not at all on the more important emotional side of the relationship. In other words, the focus is on IQ (intelligence quotient) rather than EI (emotional intelligence). This article offers ideas for helping engineers make up for this lack by improving their people skills in the workplace.
