Mobilized thermal energy storage system M-TES has been investigated for decades. The system proved it is competitive with different heat generation systems (oil/gas/pellets/firewood boilers). To study the system on large scale, we applied the system on a Lebanese case study, a typical powerplant waste heat was valorized in M-TES to cover space heating/cooling load in addition to water heating of Lebanese university main campus in Hadath. The different heat exchangers of the system were modeled, Erythritol was chosen as phase change material for latent heat storage. The Simulation was conducted for the three phases of charging, discharging and self-discharging. Simulation of charging phase showed that the increase of heat transfer fluid flow to its double value causes the decrease of charging time by 29% and the increase in charging efficiency by 8%, while the increase of waste heat potential to its maximal value causes the decrease of charging efficiency by 10% and a little decrease in charging time by 3.65%. The simulation of self-discharging phase during transportation and before discharging showed that 4 cm thickness of rockwool is enough for container shell insulation, and that every hour of discharge delay causes the loss of 0.11% of PCM capacity. The simulation of discharging phase showed that the discharging efficiency varies between 66.25% and 91.24% according to discharging power. In addition, M-TES increased the efficiency of the power plant by 0.78%. Moreover, the economic evaluation showed a payback period of about 4 years and a reduction of around 0.9 million liters od diesel oil consumption, and the comparaison with previous studies showed that the cost of heating decreased by 50% because the area is larger and the number of containers is higher, and the cost of energy decreased by 50% when using M-TES for space heating/cooling loads than the cost when using M-TES to cover heating demands only. Finally, the environmental analysis showed a reduction of about 3368 tons CO2 annually.
