This paper is one of two papers on ice bank system. The other paper describes the design andapplication of the system. This paper deals with the impact on electrical load patterns ofcentral air conditioning in residential applications then compares that to the load pattern ofnon-air conditioned residences. Later we predict what will happen to the electrical loadfactor if an ice bank storage system is supplied. All data is based on the cooling requirementsof a “typical” home on a hot summer day in Wisconsin.
