Of the many energy conservation options available to the design engineer, a systems management approach is recommended as one which will effect maximum benefits to the owner. Systems management includes energy conscious consideration of design criteria, design details, installation, testing and balancing, and operation. It requires the informed participation of the design engineer, contractor, TAB engineer, and owner/operator. This paper describes some of these considerations.
