This presentation reviews the potential benefits of applying variable-speed pumping to airside coils, water chiller coolers and condensers, hot water boilers, and other heat transfer components of an HVAC system.
Characteristic capacity/flow relationships are illustrated and discussed. Limits on the amount of flow reduction are noted. Economic comparisons with other methods of capacity control are provided, using typical examples of current system design practice.
