This paper has been written specifically to describe a newly developed and expanded teaching hospital in Taiwan, touching on most of the state of the art technology applicable to new A-C system designs for hospitals all over the world. Due to local weather conditions and other special requirements, design practices will differ from place to place. However, this paper provides an example of a new A-C system design of its category and background, illustrating the modernization of a hospital in an emerging industrial country. Design principles, procedures, and solutions are presented intentionally to serve for use as a primary checklist of new hospital A-C system design.
