Measurement and correlations of frost properties with laminar air flow over a cold flat plate are presented. Dimensionless correlations of frost thickness, density, mass concentration, and heat and mass transfer coefficients as a function of distance from the leading edge of test plate, humidity ratio of the inlet air, cold plate temperature, inlet velocity (or Reynolds number), and time are presented along with data on the accuracy of the measurements and the degree of fit of these correlations.
KEYWORDS: measuring, frost, properties, streamline flow, air flow, Reynolds numbers, thickness, density, heat flow, mass, accuracy, cold, surfaces, temperature, humidity.
