The purpose of this study was to approximate a multi-parametric measure, such as the cooling load during a summer day over a wide city area using whole building thermal simulation software before and after the bioclimatic effects of the outer building blocks’ interventions. This kind of an intervention ultimately leads to a microclimatic and air quality change in a city. The whole building energy simulation software TAS-EDSL was applied for a quite large space and took into account detailed construction elements and local climatic conditions. This way would be investigated exact strategies and practices that a building complex should follow in the future in relation to climatic change. Therefore, it is inevitable the effect of urban air quality to the IAQ. Simulation estimations of cooling and heating loads of building spaces were related to structural age, orientation and height.Key Words: thermal simulation, climate change, building complex, IAQ
