This paper describes results of laboratory evaluations of window installation methods in stucco wall assemblies as a part of a 30-month program sponsored by the California Energy Commission’s Public Interest Energy Research program and Gas Research Institute to conduct a detailed investigation of residential building construction practices and innovative building assemblies that are resistant to mold formation and growth. Laboratory protocols and experiments for moisture measurements on building assemblies are reviewed, including detailed results of moisture monitoring and spray chamber experiments on stucco wall assemblies and related window installation methods.
