In analyzing the factors governing decisions to pursue dual voltage 200/230 vs single voltage(230 and 200) unitary equipment designs, considerations for the effects on capacity, efficiency,first cost and voltage range will be discussed. In addition, the impact of air conditioningindustry standards governing the testing and certification of equipment on such decisionswill also be discussed. The economic benefits and/or liabilities as they relate to inventorycontrol and cost per se will not be covered.
