States that radiant cooling, accomplished with cool ceiling systems that operate to a great extent on the radiation principle, not only achieves a high comfort level for occupants of a space, but also provide opportunities to reduce energy costs. To realise these advantages in practice, the effects and influences of cool ceiling systems and associated plant installations must be reviewed thoroughly. Presents comparative calculations for six different cooling ceiling systems for a building of four adjacent rooms. Supplies schematics of the systems. Lists the energy consumption results and expected operating costs in a table and discusses them. Notes how energy costs can be reduced by free cooling.
