The paper discusses the use of a script to present an informativeweb-based platform as a design process for achievingnet zero site energy projects. The script can collect,connect, and integrate data from utilities, solar panels forelectricity and hot-water heating systems with financialincentives. Technical information can provide solutionsfor understanding the design, performance, and cost ofrenewable-energy, but generally do not engage or inspireexperimentation. Dense data and calculation methodsprovide results but can require more work to prepare, layout,and integrate the information for quick access. Theuse of publicly available application interfaces, scripts,and interactive on-line graphics provides an easy to understandvisual method for photovoltaic design. The workuses computational algorithms that calculate solar arraysize, payback period, and installation cost based on simplebuilding design parameters. Designers, engineers, andresearchers may use this process for achieving net zerosite energy design and the sizing of a solar panel system.The results can be useful for design performancemodeling. The technical information and simple graphicscan improve awareness about the use of solar panels forelectricity and water heating systems. Graphical information,rapid feedback and convenient display can removethe need to prepare data by a designer, engineer, developeror a researcher. The work promotes an active experiencefor anyone to participate in the development of achievingnet zero site energy projects.
