The European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive bans placing on the EU market new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of certain restricted substances. Although the directive focuses on electronic equipment (e.g., computers, servers, and cell phones), it is important to consider how RoHS may affect HVAC equipment and building operations.
