Two decades have passed since utility load management programs began paying large industries to curtail electricity usage during peak demand periods. Similar programs now offer the same opportunities for commercial customers. The article provides an overview of existing programs, ways to trim peak electricity usage, examples of financial rewards, and shows how to select the best program for their business.
