EPA-certified pellet stoves are a cleaner alternative to conventional wood stoves. However, they are not as clean as natural gas or propane burning systems. The market potential of wood pellets as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels is not fully understood, but they do offer a way to curtail the U.S. demand for fossil fuel.
