Deals with improving the water vapour sorption properties and isotherm shape of different alkali salts of polystyrene sulphonic acid (PSSA) as a candidate advanced desiccant material (ADM) for use in desiccant cooling systems (DCS) that process water vapour to produce net cooling. Background information is presented about prior papers on polymers as ADMs, computer parametric studies of an ideal desiccant for DCS, and the criteria used for assessing improved sorption performance.
