HVAC technology has a major part to play in life and property protection during fires. Often the smoke management functions of pressurisation, purging, exhaust, and containment lack definitive perspectives. Attempts to bring together the building owners, designers, code authorities, and firefighters to properly match smoke management functions to fire-involved building situations. Also covers the generic damper (and fan) components settings to establish the proper pressure, purge, or containment effect in and for the various fire conditions.
