Describes a fuzzy logic controller for HVAC applications. States that by use of a fuzzy rule-based system, the properties of a conventional PID control algorithm can be greatly improved. Develops a guideline for building the fuzzy rule-based system and the membership functions for the fuzzy sets are chosen to be probability distribution functions. A computer simulation has been developed to test the new control algorithm. States the results show impressive performances of the proposed PID-law-combining fuzzy controller.
