Presents the development of five evaporative cooler configurations for the Building Analysis and Systems Thermodynamics (BLAST) energy analysis program. The models make it possible to analyse direct, wet- and dry-coil indirect, and two-stage configurations of indirect and direct evaporative coolers in an hour-by-hour annual energy analysis program. Shows the development of the models and their functional relationship to fan system operation. This implementation permits evaluating alternatives to determine feasibility for all types of evaporative applications and weather sites. Results are presented for an education centre at various weather sites using the different evaporative cooler configurations to demonstrate the capability of the models.
