Describes the concepts for computer-controlled instrumentation, measurement, and data evaluation for an air exchange measurement system. These features are achieved by software-driven guidance of the user through the whole measurement procedure – by automated tracer gas injection, concentration measurement, data evaluation, and error analysis, and by computer generation of the measurement report. The system allows production of standardised and comparable air exchange measurements under varying conditions. It has been used for air exchange measurements in houses with natural ventilation as well as with uncontrolled and demand-controlled mechanical ventilation systems.
