By using Gray’s relaxation transport theory for monoatomic. liquids ahd the corresponding state approximation, a correlation for liquid rheimal conductivity of halogenated hydrocarbons and their mixture’s has been developed. The relaxation time postulated in Gray’s theory is assumed to be a simple function of the thermal speed, u = (3kT /m) , and the molecular separation, r.
Because the exact form of the intermolecular potential has not yet been established, the directly measurable properties of liquid volume and the normal boiling point were selected as a set of reduction parameters. In spite of these simplifications, the predicted liquid thermal conductivities are in good agreement with the ohserved values.
