Schedules and budgets for the design and construction of new cleanroom space continue to shrink. It is more important than ever that the problems normally encountered during construction be designed out of the project while it is still on paper. Cleanroom engineers and designers must plan for basic construction issues such as material staging, clean build protocol, paths of construction, and installation of cleanroom architectural systems. Close coordination and communication between the designers and constructors from the very beginning of the project are crucial. The success of any cleanroom project is as dependent on the constructability of the space as it is the completeness of the engineering and design.
