Calculative methods are presented for the minimum back-pressure forced on the back of an orbiting scroll and for the back-pressure obtained by small apertures communicated to the compression pockets in the scroll compressor with self-adjusting back-pressure not only by axial gas force, but mechanism. The minimum back-pressure is influenced, also by moments exerted on the orbiting scroll. The back-pressure obtained by small Results of these calculative apertures is a linear function of suction pressure methods were compared with, and verified by, the empirical results.
