The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officially opened for business on March 1, 2003. It seeks “innovative and unique†ideas from the private sector to combat terrorism and protect the homefront. DHS needs solutions from coast-to-coast for all aspects of its jurisdiction—from security for critical infrastructure to improving border controls, and from improving immigration services to providing disaster relief.
