Everyone likes to save money. Building managers and facility owners are no exceptions. When a staff member reviewing design development drawings suggests that considerable savings could be incorporated into a project, they usually listen and then ask, “How can we save money?” and “Where did the gold plate come from?” The term “value engineering” gets into the conversation and the ball starts to roll.
