Rely on NFPA 1035 for clear and concise job performance requirements that can be used to determine whether an individual possesses the skills and knowledge to perform as a public or private fire and life safety educator. This Standard specifically covers the requirements for Fire and Life Safety Educator Levels I, II, and III; Public Information Officer; and Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist Levels I and II.
In the 2005 edition:
- The chapters on Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist were revised to reflect current practice within the field.
- Changes were made to the levels of Fire and Life Safety Educator I, II, and III , and their assigned responsibilities to reflect the changing needs of the Fire Service and other disciplines that use this Standard.
- Editorial and formatting revisions provide increased clarity and usability.
